Texas Soccer Journal is now focused primarily on soccer history in Texas.
My name is Jeff Organ. Now living in the Texas Hill Country, I have avidly followed soccer in the United States for almost 50 years. The first professional match I ever attended was on May 11, 1974 at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, CA when the San Jose Earthquakes played (and won 4-3) their inaugural NASL home match against the Dallas Tornado.
Feel free to contact me jeff@txsoccerjournal.com if you have any comments, thoughts or would like to join me in adding to the soccer discussion here.
Clubs I have supported through the years:
1974-1984: San Jose Earthquakes (NASL-outdoor)
1976-1979: SV Waldhof Mannheim (local club supported when stationed with US Army in Germany)
1980-1984: San Diego Sockers (NASL-indoor)
1985-1995: A Truly Dark Period in American Club Soccer
1996-2005: Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS)
2006-Current: Houston Dynamo (MLS)
2016-Current: San Antonio FC (USL Championship)
1978-Current: United States National Soccer Teams
