FC Dallas Travels to face San Antonio FC- Match Preview

Since their founding in 2016, San Antonio FC (SAFC) has made three trips to Frisco during the preseason to play matches against Major League Soccer’s (MLS) FC Dallas (FCD). Tomorrow night the script is flipped as FCD makes its way to Toyota Field to play in the Alamo City at 7:30 p.m SAFC coach Alen Marcina talked about the benefits of this match for both sides after training this morning. USL Academy Program Begins Play in San Antonio This Weekend

The United Soccer League (USL) officially unveiled its vision for the future of the league’s Academy system earlier this year when it rolled out a new tier in the league’s identity called “USL Academy”. This weekend in San Antonio the league will take the first steps to turn this vision into reality when the USL Western Conference Academy Cup Regional Event is contested at San Antonio FC’s S.T.A.R. Soccer Complex and Toyota Field. Western Academy Cup Format Twenty-one matches will be played by fourteen Under-17 youth teams between Friday and Monday, October 11-14. San Antonio FC, who begin their fourth season in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship in a few weeks, hosted their annual media day at Toyota Field yesterday.
