2019 Texas UIL High School Soccer Championship Weekend Final Results

The 2019 Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) Public High School Soccer Championships were completed Saturday in Georgetown. El Paso region’s San Elizario High School (Boys 4A) won their second consecutive Championship. Of the six championship matches contested, three were won by DFW Metroplex teams and two by El Paso high schools. The final winner was Stephenville (southwest of Ft. Worth) who were 4A Girls Champions. Austin Bold FC Win Inaugural Home Match at New COTA Stadium

A sellout crowd of Austin Bold soccer fans, who witnessed the joint home and stadium opener for their United Soccer League Championship (USL) expansion franchise, were rewarded when the Bold defeated rival San Antonio FC (SAFC) 1-0 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in South Austin Saturday night. Austin Bold Inaugural Home Match against SAFC Opens New COTA Soccer Stadium Saturday Night

Austin Bold FC will make a big splash Saturday night when they play their inaugural home soccer match against I-35 rivals San Antonio FC (SAFC). The evening will also mark the opening of the Bold’s new 5,000 seat stadium at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) raceway and entertainment venue south of Austin. USMNT and Chile Play Tomorrow in Houston-Match Preview

When the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) and Chile play Tuesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, it will be the 11th time they have met in international competition. The first meeting occurred in the 1950 World Cup in Brazil and the last a 2015 friendly played in Chile. The overall U.S. record vs. Chile is 3-5-2. In friendlies played at home, the USMNT has a record of 1-2-2. This will be the seventh time the U.S. men have played in the Bayou City. The first came in 1988 when they lost 2-0 to Ecuador. The most recent match came in July of 2016 when they were soundly beaten by Argentina 4-0 in the semifinal of Copa America Centenario. Central Texas Lobos Move One Step Closer to New Austin Soccer Stadium

Central Texas Lobos of the Gulf Coast Premier Soccer League (GCPL) announced today that they have secured a site location and are now one step closer to their dream, and that of every lower league soccer club, to own and operate a soccer specific stadium. The new facility will be located on a 4-acre site in South Austin, near the junction of Interstate 35 and Highway 71. Construction is projected to begin later this year and be ready for the 2020 Gulf Coast Premier League season in the Spring of 2020.
