Travis Aday is a senior Communications major at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton. He is a member of the soccer team there and is spending his summer interning with NPSL’s Katy 1895 FC Soccer Club….and also is a goalkeeper on the team. Texas Soccer Journal has been proud to publish his posts for the 2018 season.
Katy 1895 FC took on the Houston Dutch Lions FC on Tuesday night at St. John XXIII at 7 o’clock. Despite going into the game needing a win, the game turned out to be the last of this season for Katy as they took their worst defeat of the season, losing by an eventual 9-0 scoreline.
Katy, depleted with injuries and absences, started out the game flat and were made to pay for it. After allowing four first half goals, it seemed the team was going to come out of the locker room fired up for the second half. The fifth goal came less than a minute into the second half, however, and took the wind out of Katy’s sails. A lackluster performance, and nine goals by the Dutch Lions effectively ended Katy’s season and was a boost in confidence for the Dutch Lions.
Katy 1895 FC featured every player available in the match which was just 16. Starters were Travis Aday, Alan Albornoz, Tyler Sivadon, Luka Lazarevic, Sydney Tume, Nick Coburn, Josh Moore, Roger Lopez, Abdullah Mirza, Tutu Hernandez and Sergio Loredo. Making appearances off the bench were Felipe Latorre, Jordi Cobo, Tristan Duffy, David Moreno and Charlie Beck.
Katy 1895 FC owners and coaches would like to thank everyone that made this inaugural season possible. We will be back stronger next season!
