After only one high-level amateur game was played in Texas in both the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and USL Premier Development League (PDL) last weekend, Week 2 kicked-off with additional Texas teams opening their seasons in both leagues.

Ft. Worth Vaqueros-1 Tyler FC-0
Nick Rochowski scored an 88th minute goal off of a Jamie Lovegrove free-kick to lead the Vaqueros to a 1-0 victory over Tyler FC, who were playing their inaugural NPSL match.
Houston Regals FCA-3 Shreveport Rafters-2
Coming back from a two goal deficit, the Houston Regals SCA opened their season at KIPP High School in Houston with a 3-2 victory over Shreveport Rafters. After a scoreless first half, Jackson Darnell netted in the 49th and 55th minute to take the lead for the Rafters. The Regals then pulled a goal back when Brayan Gomez scored in the 64th minute. Shortly thereafter Ricardo Caliman tied up the match. Substitute Jorge Encinas Sicre scored the game winner in the 82nd minute to complete the comeback.

OKC Energy U23-3 FC Cleburne-0
After a scoreless first half, OKC Energy’s U23 squad scored three second half goals in a 14 minute span, including a brace by Noah Keats, to spoil FC Cleburne’s inaugural PDL match at the University of Central Oklahoma. Cleburne was outshot 20-9 and goalkeeper Taylor Lampe was forced to make 8 saves on the afternoon. Below was the opening night starting lineup for Cleburne.
