A well-researched and detailed story ran on mlssoccer.com earlier today about how good the FC Dallas defense has been this year. In the article, it was pointed out that the only goals (2) FCD has conceded this year were from the penalty spot.  The article used film clips to demonstrate the organization and tactical savvy of Oscar Pareja’s system and also heaped much praise on the talent of the team for this success. 

Shortly later an excellent piece written by Jason Poon on SB Nation’s BigD Soccer site asked a lot of questions about the conclusions drawn in this story, weighing in skeptically that maybe good fortune and extraordinary goalkeeper work were more responsible than any tactical system for the good results.
